Markenfield Hall: the blog

Welcome to the Blog of Markenfield Hall, a small, moated, medieval manor house; just outside Ripon North Yorkshire. Privately owned, and very much a family home.

In the foreground are some wild-growing native plants, and then the wooden footbridge that leads over the moat and to the Hall itself. The Hall is illuminated by the first rays of the sun, which glint on the small glass panes of the medieval arched windows. The blue sky is streaked with clouds. The whole photograp is bathed in a golden light.
